Outside

Outside, I will notice the rich depth of November, vibrant with quiet intensity . I will notice the decline, the slowing of pace, feel grateful for here, for now. This is my plan, this is how my day will begin.

Underfoot, the land will be waterlogged and difficult going. I will have to watch where I put my feet and use effort to keep my balance. The light, though weak, is soft and hopeful.

The dogs, who do not care either way will scatter birds and stillness and I will walk back to myself, notice myself and celebrate every beautiful problem I am privileged enough to call mine.
